Greenly DIY: Concrete Patio Cleaner

With warmer weather upon us, we can finally enjoy stepping outside again and enjoying some fresh air. Brunch on the patio, evening coffee on the back porch overlooking your outdoor space. Is there anything better in New England than warm weather and a fresh breeze? We don’t think so. There is, however, a surefire way to get distracted while sitting out on your patio: looking down and realizing the concrete is caked in dirt and dust from a muddy spring season!

Luckily for you, we have a Greenly Pro hack that will get your concrete patio or outdoor space summer ready in no time at all. An added bonus? It is all natural without the use of harmful chemicals, and can be done without a pressure washer! A win, all around.

    What you’ll need:

    1 cup hydrogen peroxide

    1/2 cup baking soda

    1/8 cup dishwashing liquid

    1 gallon of water

Carefully mix all ingredients into a mop bucket or large container. Remove any furniture or other bulk items and thoroughly sweep your concrete patio. Using an outdoor broom or handheld scrub, pour the cleaning mixture over the concrete and scrub thoroughly. Once the surface area is covered in the solution, allow to sit for up to 30 minutes.

Rinse off with a hose or with clean water. Patio concrete is very porous, so a pressure washer is not needed in order to achieve a deep clean. The best part of this hack is that it can be used on any regular concrete surface, such as driveways or (untreated) garage floors. Give it a go this summer and bring your concrete surfaces back to life!
